ALLOWING FOR THE KERF

As with any laser cutter the material is removed by the laser beam and the line width is 0.2-0.4mm. The variation depends on the thickness of the material and a number of other factors. For the majority of designs this tolerance is acceptable and aids with assembly. If you wish to improve the precision of the parts you may need to account for the line cut width but please be aware that we cut the parts along the lines provided. To account for the cut width we suggest increasing the part outline by 0.2mm on each edge and reducing holes/cut outs by 0.2mm, although this will reduce any assembly tolerance for you.

Adobe Illustrator
